i2 Staff Creating Masks to Fight Covid-19

By Adventure Science Center

Adventure Science Center’s Innovation Incubator staff Megan Kelley and Jay Greer have been creating personal protective equipment for both local and national distribution by using the museum’s 3D printers and personal sewing machines.

The staff have created several earsavers for Nashville General Hospital and pocket masks for MedThreads Nashville Volunteers. The next batch of masks are destined for the Seeding Masks initiative to equip Native nations in need and protect elders from the virus.

You can help! We are seeking 100% cotton fabric in minimum sizes of 9″x15″. If you are able to support this initiative, please send your contact information to Courtney Cotton at ccotton@adventuresci.org.

Two-thirds of our revenue comes from admissions, gift shop sales, camps and school visits – all of which will be lost during our closure. While we are taking significant measures to manage our expenses, we are doing everything we can to provide support for our amazing staff.

How you can help:

Make a donation to support the museum while we are closed. Click here to donate.

Donate materials to the museum’s i2 maker space to help staff create personal protective equipment.

Create a Facebook fundraising campaign.

Join, upgrade or renew your membership, or purchase a membership for another family or friend. Use code BONUS20 at checkout to receive 13 months for the price of 12! Click here to join, upgrade or renew.

Purchase a museum gift card for an upcoming birthday, anniversary or celebration! Gift cards may be applied to memberships, the gift shop and more. Click here to learn more.

If you’re already shopping on Amazon or at your local Kroger, Target, Publix and more, these companies will give back to the museum at no cost to you. Learn more here.
