Adventure Science Center Wins Two TAM Awards

We are thrilled to announce that we are the recipients of two recent awards from the Tennessee Association of Museums. Read more below to learn about these awards and their importance to our work at the science center.

2024 Award of Excellence for Community Support: Veterans Day Event

Last fall, we connected with Operation Stand Down (OSDTN) to host a special, sensory-friendly evening exclusively for veterans and their families. The science center closed to the public early to provide quieter, after-hours access for military families.

Veterans and their families were given exclusive access to the entire science center and over 175 exhibits throughout the evening.

An OSTDTN employee noted, "Adventure Science Center made their Military/Veteran Family Appreciation night free, accessible, and sensitive to post-traumatic stress and it's a model more museums and cultural resources should replicate."

We are proud of our staff and the hard work they put in to make this event happen!

Most recently, Xavier sponsored a project focused on increasing public safety surrounding the dangers of coin batteries with youth volunteer, Andy Gan, who was awarded First Place in the Medicine and Health Section of the Middle Tennessee Science and Engineering Fair (MTSEF) and Third Place overall.

i2 is included in the cost of general admission and provides access to high-tech, multigenerational activities to over 6,000 visitors a month and is open Thursday - Monday.
