We have a full-time janitorial and maintenance staff. Daily, the science center galleries are vacuumed and restrooms cleaned. Our Adventure Guides regularly wash their hands to help prevent the spread of germs and walk through the galleries to pick up areas as needed.
Using guidance from local, state, and federal public health officials, we have implemented updated preventative safety measures to ensure that you and your children are safe and can focus on a fun learning experience. Below is an overview of our protocols:
- Numerous hand sanitizer stations are available to guests throughout the science center.
- Subway restaurant employees clean tables and chairs throughout each day.
- We ask that all families monitor temperatures at home before coming to the museum when at all possible. If your temperature is above 100.4 or you are feeling unwell, please stay home.
- We have upgraded our air filtration system and invested in technology to assist us in keeping the air and surfaces in the science center clean through an automated system, Puradigm, installed within our HVAC. The system adds both an extra layer of filtration and emits particles that neutralize viruses, bacteria, mold, and fungus in the air and on surfaces.
Puradigm®️ is the only pathogen management system of its kind to have been lab-tested for efficacy against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.*
- 94% reduction after 60 minutes.
- 98% reduction after 4 hours.
- Undetectable after 24 hours.
*The study was carried out independently by the University of Florida College of Medicine’s Biosafety Level 3 laboratory.

ASTC stands for the Association of Science and Technology Centers. Adventure Science Center is a member of ASTC.
ASC members have reciprocal admission privileges with other participating science and technology centers. Each institution has its own admissions policy, so call before you visit to get the details. Reciprocity extends only to general admission—it does not include free admission to additional attractions such as special exhibits, planetarium shows, simulator rides or giant-screen films. It also does not usually include museum store discounts. View a list of ASTC reciprocating facilities and learn more about the program.
Please familiarize yourself with all the rules applying to reciprocity with the ASTC Passport Program before you purchase your membership. Organizations may change their participation in the reciprocity program. We do not offer refunds due to changes in reciprocity.
